An iconic Brisbane family business is celebrating its 70-year anniversary!

The business began in 1955 when Chris Nicolaou and two partners bought a small general store on the current site for £3,200.

One of the owners of Chris' IGA, Nick Nicolaou, told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, "We're very proud of my father's legacy."

"It's just very sad not to have him here celebrating the 70th."

"He'd be so proud of what he's really achieved and what he passed on to us to, you know, to keep his legacy going," Mr Nicolaou continued.
