Tens of thousands of South East Queensland commuters are facing a "rancid" journey home as a snap strike by rail and bus unions brings the network to a standstill.
While the state government and Queensland Rail call the action "outrageous" during a fuel crisis, the union insists their members are sitting at their desks ready to work if the trains are allowed to run.
