Out of Australia’s five largest cities, Brisbane residents are paying the most for fuel.
A report from the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission found Brisbane’s average retail petrol prices were the highest at 186.4 cents per litre.
Economist and Affordability Specialist at the RACQ, Dr Ian Jeffreys, told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, "Brisbane has consistently been the most expensive out of all of the large capitals."
"They've said it's down to market conditions as if market conditions are somehow and on a stone tablet somewhere. But, market conditions are the choices the fuel companies make," Dr Jeffreys said.
