Small business is the backbone of the Australian economy and every time a natural disaster hits most of them are impacted.
The Business Chamber of Queensland is calling on the government to provide support to both the small businesses here in the South-East and in North Queensland.
Business Chamber CEO Heidi Cooper told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "What we're also seeing as well is businesses that have been impacted in a really significant way through loss of trading, loss of revenue, loss of productivity, not being able to run their business during this time and they just simply cannot continue to absorb this cost."
"Many of them continue to have operating costs while they simply were not able to trade," Mrs. Cooper said.
