Queensland Treasurer David Janetzki has doubled the "Boost to Buy" fund to $330 million, allowing the state to take up to a 40% equity stake in homes for eligible first-home buyers.

Economist Leith Van Onselen joined Jason Matthews on 4BC Breakfast to argue that Queensland’s expanded shared equity scheme is a "self-defeating" demand-side policy that fails to address the root causes of the housing crisis.
