The Queensland Hotel Association has criticised the state's rigid licensing laws for preventing local pubs and venues from opening early to broadcast the World Cup matches.

While a dedicated live site exists for fans, hospitality leaders argue that businesses are missing out on vital revenue while facing increasing overhead pressures.
