Logan Mayor Jon Raven is fighting a proposal by the North Queensland Cowboys to build a 100-pokie leagues club in Holmview, warning that it will drain over $13 million annually from local families to fund Townsville while offering only $100,000 in community grants.

Denouncing the distant club's "cash grab," Mayor Raven joined Jason Matthews on 4BC Breakfast to rally residents to submit public objections to the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation to stop the venue from proceeding.
