How a 12-year-old Brisbane schoolgirl collected over 1,200 food donations to tackle the homelessness crisis

Disturbed by children sleeping rough in cars and young people living on the streets, 12-year-old Liv Carlson organised a large four-week food drive at Prince of Peace Lutheran College.

The initiative gathered more than 1,245 food donations alongside personal, handwritten cards for the charity Nourish Street, prompting widespread community praise and calls for local radio listeners to contribute.
