Driven by the prohibitive cost of local dental care, over 11,000 Australians travelled overseas last year to undergo cheaper, often elective, dental procedures while on holiday.

The President of the Australian Dental Association joined Dean & Sofie on 4BC Breakfast to explain that the high cost of local dentistry is due to strict, mini-hospital-level compliance standards, high labor costs, and extensive training.
