Joining the show, Dr. Rachel David, CEO of Private Healthcare Australia. With 400,000 members on the full aged pension and hundreds of thousands more living on less than $50,000 a year, this change forces a heartbreaking choice: pay an extra $700 a year or downgrade to "junk" policies with exclusions for the very joint and cardiac surgeries they are likely to need. Is this a necessary generational rebalance or a "hit to the hip pocket" that will push thousands back into crumbling public hospital waiting lists?

Andrew Boyd, CEO of QMetco, joins the show to sound the alarm on what he calls an "obscene" royalty regime. Despite the resources sector supporting one in five Queensland jobs and contributing $115 billion to the economy, a tiered tax system is now triggering a massive 40% hit on every dollar earned over $300 per tonne.
