• Snakes in the Park (July 23): Overcome your fears at Schifferdecker Park in Joplin from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM! Meet a few friendly native snakes and learn how these cold-blooded critters help keep pests in check. (Registration requested).
• Turtle Discovery Table (July 25): Stop by the Springfield Conservation Nature Center anytime between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM to learn all about box turtles, sliders, and Missouri's other native reptiles and amphibians.
• Wildcat Park Water Festival (July 25): Beat the heat in Joplin with the Shoal Creek Conservation Education team from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM! Enjoy live entertainment, water conservation activities, a rubber duck race, and hilarious cardboard boat races.
• Intro to Dutch Ovens & Camp Cooking (July 25): Head to the Monett City Park Pond from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM to learn cast-iron cooking techniques and try out delicious camp recipes. All food and equipment are provided! (Limited spots available—registration required).
• Golden Hour Remnant Prairie Walk (July 30): Meet at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center at 5:30 PM before heading out to the historic Mount Vernon Prairie. Discover unique native plants and insects during sunset. (Be sure to bring your phone or camera for golden-hour photos!)
