The holidays are a time to spend with friends and family to share in a holiday meal. Unfortunately not everyone can share in the holiday’s spirits. Many seniors in our community who remain independent in their own homes don’t have the financial means to prepare a festive meal or require assistance in preparing meals throughout the year.

This is where Beacon Community Services comes in!

Along with the generosity of the United Way of Greater Victoria Started, the More than Meals Program has been delivering meals to seniors since May of 2020.

This program provides nutritiously home cooked meals prepared each week in the Shoal Centre kitchen.

Not only are meals provided but like the name suggests they also provide some companionship and the opportunity for their clients to see a familiar face each week and not be so alone.
