South African retail giant Shoprite Checkers has notified the National Consumer Commission that it is recalling all Deli Hummus following a detection of Listeria Monocytogenes which is a species of foodborne bacteria. The products include Traditional Hummus, Reduced Fat Hummus and a few others. After the recall, Shoprite Checkers provided an interim investigation report to the NCC that flagged issues of product handling at the manufacturer.
