Greg Laurie from "A New Beginning" (heard weekdays at 10am & 7pm on WFIL) calls in to discuss his brand new book, Billy Graham: The Man I Knew (Salem's Book of the Month for May). Laurie, who lived in Summit, NJ for a number of years as a youth, talks about what inspired him to write the book, his hopes for those who read it, and some neat tidbits as well.
Laurie, longtime Senior Pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, CA (and other locations), who himself has spoken to millions at Harvest Crusades (including in Philadelphia), also shares a personal example of a humorous and powerful interaction (one of many in the book) revealing the "everydayness" of Graham.
Laurie also discusses two other similar books he wrote in recent years--Steve McQueen: The Salvation of an American Icon and Johnny Cash: The Redemption of an American Icon--including an inspirational story of McQueen's conversion to Christianity towards the end of his life with the help of Pastor Graham.
