When Your Burden Makes You Fall (John 19:17)

"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." — Hebrews 4:15–16 

When life hurts, it can be easy to feel alone or misunderstood. Hebrews 4:15–16 offers powerful encouragement by reminding us that Jesus understands our weaknesses, struggles, and pain. He is not distant from what we experience. Because Jesus experienced temptation, suffering, and human weakness without sinning, we can approach Him with confidence when we need help.

"But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, 'Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?'" — Exodus 17:3

In moments of pressure and need, our natural instinct is often to complain. The Israelites, thirsty and weary in the desert, questioned God’s plan and Moses’ leadership. Exodus 17:3 gives us a raw glimpse into human doubt and desperation—but it also points us to God’s faithfulness in meeting needs we can’t meet ourselves.
