It is International Homelessness Week and local non-profit organisation Anchor this year marks 50 years of working in the community to support people experiencing homelessness. Its mission, an Australia where anyone experiencing homelessness has a pathway to safety and independence.

David Alter, Crisis Response Worker and Leanne Nicholson, Manager of Homelessness and Youth Services came in to talk about their respective roles, and to introduce the Kirrip Program; a community initiative in the Yarra Ranges, delivered in partnership with Anchor and the Yarra Ranges Council. It connects people facing homelessness with local businesses that provide free food, services, and practical support.
