Two great interviews this week:

Firstly, Debbie Crawford called from The Healthy Ageing Team at Yarra Ranges Council to talk about the team’s dedication to helping older adults connect, share, and discover social groups; health and wellbeing activities; and information about accessing the My Aged Care service. ‘Community Connectors’ sessions are held at Belgrave Library on the 4th Thursday of every month, 10am to midday, and all are welcome. Secondly, I chatted with Heidi Tucker, CEO of Anchor Community Care. Heidi has devoted her professional life to working in social services and today leads programs supporting young people experiencing homelessness, particularly those transitioning out of the care system. At 1am this Friday 27 February 2026, Heidi will step into the cold, black water of Tasmania’s Derwent River to swim 34km kilometres, non-stop, through darkness and cold. Her goal is to raise $10,000 to provide accommodation, mentoring, and long-term support for young people at risk.
