Guest : Pam Atwood-Gerontologist and Executive Director at Colebrook Village in Hebron.
Subject: Bullying in Senior Care. Pam says bullying is increasing in senior care, but is not pervasive.10 to 20 percent of seniors report they have been bullied in senior living facilities or senior centers. She says those who are in senior living now are very diverse, their life experiences and their values can be very different. Race, ethnicity and lifestyle also are factors. She says some bullying can be subtle, like laying claim to a space in a common area such as a cafeteria or dining room or crossing someone's name off a list for an outing.
