Ryan Gallagher got the start for South Bend and went 2.2 innings before giving way to Connor Schultz, who initially stopped the bleeding by recording the final out of the third. However, Schultz ran into serious trouble in the fourth and fifth innings, surrendering five runs on five hits while issuing three walks.
