One in four Rhode Island households is ALICE — working hard, but still forced to choose between rent, medication, and groceries. On this episode of UNITED in 401, host Cortney Nicolato talks with Director Brito (RI Office of Human Services) and Melissa Cherney (RI Community Food Bank) about food insecurity among working families, the Rhody Feeding Rhody Alliance's 60+ organization coalition — which has distributed nearly 195,800 pounds of seafood and 256,500 pounds of gleaned produce — and the barriers still keeping people from getting help.
