Sunday morning (6-14-26) on The World of Aviation Al Malmberg will get an update from Darrin Smedsmo.  If you recall last fall Darrin was flying his restored 1948 Stinson when he experienced catastrophic engine failure.  He made a perfect emergency landing on a state highway.  Darrin wasn't injured, nor was anyone on the ground.  There wasn't any property damaged.  The problem was he landed on the Red Lake Indian Reservation.  They seized and impounded his plane.  WHY?  Sunday, Darrin will deliver great news.  Hear Darrin's story Sunday morning at 10:05 (ct) on AM-1280-The Patriot.

The two brothers, during WWII, bought approximately 400-acres across the river from Monticello with the purpose of training glider pilots.
