“Who Am I?” is the fundamental question asked by all humanity, regardless of race, religion or creed. It’s a question we all ask ourselves at one time or another in life, but why do we ask it? Is it because life itself is a mystery? Is it because we need to understand our place in the world?

In the first part of a very special ‘Speaking From Our Hearts’ mini-series entitled ‘Living The Life You Are’, Paul meets Nic Higham, to ask the bigger questions surrounding the ultimate question of “Who Am I?”

Nic Higham is a counsellor, coach and author based in Leicester, UK. His work is influenced by the teaching of the great Advaita (nonduality) teacher Nisargadatta Maharaj.

Nic has previously worked in NHS mental health inpatient services as a health care support worker and therapist. He’s also worked within the third sector for many years with a social justice charity leading national service improvement programmes.

One thing that’s never been attached to Paul is the label ‘normal’ – something he is totally aware of.  He definitely subscribes to being one of those mentioned the iconic ‘Think Different’ Apple commercial narrated by Steve Jobs in 1977:

“Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules.  You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do!”
