Ignorance over the years has come to mean someone who is despised. But it’s also a choice, a deliberate act. You can choose to get involved in what’s going on in the US election, for example, form an opinion, change your mind, look again, or if you think it’s too demanding for your soul you can choose to think whatever happens over there happens and I have no influence.


What is impossible to know when you’re 18 is how you body is going to be and how you are going to be physically. When you’re older we can all look back and think I wish I’d taken a bit more care or done some things differently.

A certain level of income doesn’t give you a significant boost of happiness, the biggest thing that helps us to move forward is relationship, then gratitude, flow, and helping others. We have to find and move with the right people who fill the gaps that we lack otherwise it’s challenging and complicated to move forward and evaluate which gaps we have in our flow.

Looking back on my life it’s been a history of mostly bad mistakes. The thing I’d like to talk about is that I wish I’d paid attention to just how right my mother was when she would criticise and guide me away from the easy way.
Growing up, it was a fault of mine, I looked for the way out, the get-rich scheme, the way to jump the queue and get ahead without all the hard work. My mother constantly repeated – and she was right – that all of that was pissing away effort, time and money and that instead, the easy way is not the easy way and that it doesn’t work by and large, and that if you put the effort into doing something positive and work on it, in the end, it will be much quicker. Ultimately that paid off and I have changed my life quite a bit realising my mother’s wisdom.
Choose something important to you, that you really like, want and need to do and pour your effort into that and master the toolsets that you need to acquire to achieve that. That’s where you need to focus your energy and your time, not on the easy way or route that people are promising results instantly, that’s bullshit.
We’re fed the idea that wealth is the key to success and achievement. From one perspective, it can be. There are some people who highly value the opinion of others; they’re stuck in that materialistic paradigm. I learned that the world’s opinion matters very little in your personal life. The materialistic game that so many of us are taught to play is a rigged game that does not lead to happiness.

If you take the easy way what you’re doing is pouring your energy down a rat hole, it’s not gonna work because it’s sold by someone who’s benefitting in some way it’s not designed to help you.’‘Even though it’s not attractive, pretty, glittery or shiny that so many of us reach for, that stoic, rough, granite-like worldview is based solidly on reality and hard experience. It’s real wisdom.’‘Patience and persistence always win, that’s the key to success.’‘Material things and the opinion of the world about what happiness and success look like are lies.’

T M Hoy is a happiness expert, but he came by it at great cost and through unthinkable hardship. When Marc says: “What is happiness? Ultimately that paid off and I have changed my life quite a bit realising my mother’s wisdom.</li>

That’s where you need to focus your energy and your time, not on the easy way or route that people are promising results instantly, that’s bullshit.</li>
<li>We’re fed the idea that wealth is the key to success and achievement. From one perspective, it can be. There are some people who highly value the opinion of others; they’re stuck in that materialistic paradigm. I learned that the world’s opinion matters very little in your personal life. The materialistic game that so many of us are taught to play is a rigged game that does not lead to happiness.</li>
