Tim McAuley on how we are wired to think

View descriptionShare

Can we put our social primate in check and change our worldview?

Meet Tim McAuley who spent the better part of his youth and well into his 20s as a hedonistic pleasure seeker. In 2004, the party came to an end. At age 28 his liver was failing, and he was given an ultimatum: Quit or you’ll be dead by August.

A few years later, on a wave off the coast of San Clemente, California he was reborn a 'soul surfer.' That wave brought him into focus and he got a glimpse of his own potential. Surfing taught him how to get out of his own way and just flow.

Soul Surfing is Tim’s metaphor. “The principles at play in your development as a surfer are applicable to every area of your life.”

With that, Tim founded Soul Surfer School and has been sharing his brand of self-development since. You can find him on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and on https://soulsurferschool.com/

In this episode, we discuss his view on life, how we as human beings are wired, his battle with addiction what his vision board looks like now, why surfing and what we all can do to think to co-exist, no triumph in the time of division and polarity. You’ll love what he has to say.
