The start of the NBA season is now underway with two marquee games last night. The Celtics beat the Knicks 132-109. But history in the second game as the Lakers beat the Timberwolves 110-103. For the first time ever in the NBA, a father and son played on the same court for the same team. LeBron James, and his son Bronny James checked into the game together in the 2nd quarter. LeBron had 16 points, Bronny had zero in just three minutes of action.
The matchup between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers has fans clamoring for World Series tickets, and that means prices are soaring. The morning after the Dodgers trounced the New York Mets and earned their spot in the Fall Classic, tickets for the World Series were going for at least $1,000, depending on the game. Game 1 of the World Series is Friday, Oct. 25, at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. According to SeatGeek, the cheapest single ticket goes for $1,034. Game 2 of the series stays in Los Angeles for the following night, Saturday, Oct. 26, where tickets actually jumped a couple hundred dollars. The cheapest single ticket runs for $1,209. And to be clear, all of those “cheap” tickets are for the so-called nosebleed seats.
Cooper Hefner is making a $100-million all-cash bid to buy Playboy, the iconic company founded by his father, Hugh Hefner, with the goal of "restoring the brand to its roots". His bid aims to acquire the intellectual property and brand assets of Playboy Enterprises from its publicly traded parent company, PLBY Group. The magazine went under in 2020 due to the pandemic, but there is plans to relaunch in February 2025.
