As Kimberly Perry prepares to release her first set of solo songs with her BLOOM EP on June 9, she’s also counting down the days until she becomes a first-time Mom.

She recently sat down with Kiss Country 99.9’s TC & Dina B to share some details surrounding the bundle of joy she and husband, Johnny Costello, are expecting including the name, due date and personality traits they’re hoping for.

“Apparently, I accidentally revealed the gender last week during an interview,” she laughed. “We are having a little boy the last week of August. We’re so excited. His name is going to be Whittaker James Costello.”

She continued, “His Dad is 6’5”, bleach blonde and he plays — I met him when he was in a Country Punk Rock band down in Austin, so we’re hoping the genetics of baby boy are going to be a free-spirited, whimsical little music baby. That’s what we’re hoping for.”

Regardless of who baby Whittaker becomes, Perry says he’s already given her the greatest gift by gifting her the title of Mom which has added to the positivity in her current season of life.

“I feel more at home in my own skin more than ever before and I’ve thought a lot about why that is,” she shared. “I think it’s a lot about adding commas to my life situation. My life went from being a daughter and a sister [to] I’m also a mother and a wife now. I’m found so much empowerment in that and ownership. It’s a really positive season for me and I’m just thrilled to be home and back in all the things.”
