Ryan Braun is back — but only for a day. Wisco Sports Show host, Grant Bilse, joins to preview the Milwaukee Brewers alumni home run derby Friday, how Wisconsin lost out on 200,000 free hamburgers, and share details about the bus trip to the Bob Uecker tribute game.
Before Friday's 3 p.m. game with the Marlins, Milwaukee will have an alumni home run derby that includes:
Bilse breaks it down and gives us his prediction.
After that, we discuss how Milwaukee-based Geroge Webb restaurants were saved when the Brewers' 11-game win streak was snapped. Had they won, Webb would have given out free hamburgers. It's a promotion the restaurant's been running since the 1940s, but has only had to give out twice — 160,000 burgers in 1987 and another 190,000 in 2018.
Sticking with food, we just had to get Bilse's take on Raising Canes opening in La Crosse next month, before talking about the WiscoTrips ride to AmFam Field on Sunday, Aug. 24, for the Uecker tribute game. There are only a few tickets left (get them here).
Bilse hosts the Wisco Sports Show (listen here) from 4-6 p.m. weekdays on WKTY and also produces the Bill Michaels Show from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
