Joe Zepecki, candidate for Democratic Party of Wisconsin chair, was in La Crosse last Saturday and stopped into the WIZM studio to discuss the state of the party, the not-so beautiful bill passing the US House and state of politics in Wisconsin.
Zepecki is one of three candidates running for state chair, along with William Garcia — the La Crosse County and 3rd Congressional District Democratic Party chair — and Devin Remiker, who is a UW-L graduate.
The Wisconsin Democratic Party convention is July 16-17, where delegates will vote on those three candidates.
On the show, along with Republicans passing what Zepecki called a wealth transfer to the rich through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, we also discussed Republicans holding their state convention and one of their platforms being upholding Wisconsin's 176-year-old near total abortion ban. We also talked about the Democrats' bench when it comes for things like running for governor, if Tony Evers doesn't seek reelection.
