U.S. House candidate Emily Berge in the WIZM studio talking about her run for Wisconsin’s 3rd District.
Some of the big topics we hit on were the PFAS dilemma throughout the district — including French Island — housing and homelessness, trying to keep up with the Trump administration and Berge’s experience in government.
Now, selfishly, we had to ask Berge about La Crosse trying to hire a city administrator. And, that’s because she is the city council president of Eau Claire, which does not have a mayor but there is a city administrator (called a city manager there).
We also asked about why she decided to run, her thoughts on Republican Derrick Van Orden and her other Democratic opponents for the 3rd District — Laura Benjamin and Rebecca Cooke.
Along with being city council president, Berge is a licensed therapist, a mother and an ultra-runner, who has done the Hixon 50 in La Crosse.
