An intergenerational healing event is taking place at the Franciscan Spirituality Center next month. The program is called Fighting Racism Through Sisterhood. This is an in-person event. The event takes place on Friday, February 13th and Saturday, February 14. It is designed to bring women of all backgrounds together to confront racism and build solidarity in the community. The retreat includes meditation sessions, inspirational guest speakers who will share diverse perspectives and cultural histories. It's designed to be supportive of the community. It's also designed to help promote understanding and change in the greater La Crosse area. Julie Helgerson of the Franciscan Spirituality Center joined Sean Dwyer on La Crosse Talk to discuss fighting racism locally.

The new Explore La Crosse travel guide was recently released. The guide offers up many opportunities to visit, enjoy and discover in Western Wisconsin. It features articles about festivals, adventures and destinations navigation guides.  Explore La Crosse Executive Director A.J. Frels spoke appeared on La Crosse Talk with Sean Dwyer on Tuesday. He began by explaining how they market the community to potential tourists and visitors. There was also a discussion on what is coming up in 2026 for activities in the community. First, they talked about who makes the trip to the La Crosse area and how much they spend enjoying their time in the Coulee Region. Folks from Milwaukee like it here!

A look at tourism and its impact in the La Crosse area

The La Crosse County Veterans Services Department is offering a unique program for women who are veterans and live in western Wisconsin.

The program is called I Am Not Invisible. It is a women's veteran's history project.

The project is in collaboration with Western Technical College Photography department.

The event takes place Wednesday, February 11 from 1:30 until 5:00 or Thursday, February 12 from 8:30 AM until 11:30 AM at the Coleman Center on the WTC Campus.
