Bishop Gerard Battersby is the 11th Bishop of the Diocese of La Crosse.  He was appointed by Pope Francis on March 19, 20204.  His installation Mass happened on May 20, 2024 at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral in La Crosse. His personal coat of arms features a Celtic cross.  The Bishop is also a Detroit Tigers fan.

The La Crosse Marathon is 0rganized by the River City Running club.  The event is set for Saturday May 2nd.  The day also features a 5K run/walk. There is a half marathon $80 and the full marathon costs $90.  Michael Borst from the Running club spoke to WIZM LaCrosseTalk host Sean Dwyer.
