Joey, Nancy, and Karly kicked off Friday talking about a weekend wedding and the awkwardness of figuring out which coworkers were invited. Karly got onto Joey for not going to vote yesterday.  Nancy shared a back-to-school hack after getting flooded with teacher wish lists. Instead of buying random supplies, she picked up Amazon gift cards and sent them with handwritten notes for each of her son’s teachers on the first day of school.  The show laughed about unusual baby names from 2025, including Tsunami, Billion, Matrix, Luxury, and Howdy. Nancy said her nickname should be tsunami because she "comes in like a wave and destroys things."  Hot Tea: Perez Hilton had been reaching out to celebrities he had bashed in the past to make amends before his hospitalization. Joey, Nancy, and Karly took on a haircut challenge at Tennessee School of Beauty during Cuts for Kids. To everyone’s surprise, Nancy actually did a pretty good job, while Joey’s mannequin ended up with a much more questionable look.  Joey discovered the stink-bait smell trapped in his truck has gotten so bad that it seemed to follow him out of the vehicle. Nancy reassured him the smell wasn’t actually on him, just stuck in his nose and beard.  Hot Tea: Perez Hilton was hospitalized after a concerning livestream prompted viewers to call police. Travis Kelce is reportedly interested in making a country album. A Minnesota homeowner was arrested after creating a homemade spike strip to keep kids off his lawn.  The show discussed a teenager who unknowingly bought stolen Civil War-era cannonballs and tried to take them through airport security. Listeners shared their own stories of buying stolen items without realizing it.  Joey and Nancy reacted to Buc-ee’s suing an Ohio business called Beaver’s Mini Mart over its logo. Joey and Nancy still weren’t completely convinced.  Nancy accidentally sent Joey into a panic with a simple “Can you call me?” text. Joey figured out why he was so loopy Friday. After fasting for labs, drinking black coffee, and accidentally mixing two medications that cause drowsiness, he was so out of it his in-laws made him ride home instead of driving himself.  Nancy spent most of church trying not to laugh after her son accidentally farted on a wooden pew right before the sermon. Karly celebrated Shark Week with a trip to the Georgia Aquarium to see a whale shark.  The show reacted to Martha Reeves’ national anthem performance at a women’s professional baseball game. People online have ranked it as one of the worst performances ever.   The Monday Morning Wake-Up Call featured Calvin’s first day of high school. He wasn't thrilled to be awakened by Joey and Nancy and reminded everyone he still had “20 minutes of sleep left.”  Joey and Karly compared notes on The Odyssey. Karly loved seeing it in IMAX 70mm in Chattanooga, while Joey thought some of the modern dialogue felt out of place in an ancient Greek story.  Hot Tea: Bunnie XO bought a Los Angeles home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day had a massive opening weekend, and a New Jersey police officer dressed as a bush helped issue 74 distracted-driving tickets.  Nancy’s tax-free weekend shopping trip got way out of hand thanks to extra sales. What started as a back-to-school run turned into a major spending spree and early Christmas shopping.  The show talked about recalled rechargeable hand warmers, and Nancy realized she had bought the recalled model for her son a while back. Joey brought up how a product he used for his son's was later recalled.   Lucky 7 for $50 to Farmacy Restaurant  Karly witnessed a rare public Joey meltdown while he was trying to find his son’s drama camp performance, which was later blamed on the medication-and-fasting combination.  Nancy volunteered as a third-base coach for her son’s softball team and is convinced she caused a player’s hamstring injury after enthusiastically sending him home to score. 

Joey warned everyone that he was fasting for lab work and might get hangry. He woke up extra early and ate three gluten-free waffles, syrup, and a banana before 3:30am.   Nancy finally watched the Idaho murders documentary on Netflix and was completely creeped out by it.   The show talked about the recent Taco Bell lettuce scare and the confirmed cases of illness in Knox County. Nancy said she’d go back to Taco Bell immediately, just without lettuce, while Joey said he had already been back for a Crunchwrap Supreme.  Hot Tea: Parker McCollum canceled a show because his wife went into labor and welcomed their second son. Bailey Zimmerman canceled his entire European tour to focus on family matters. Shania Twain said she would never remove Brad Pitt’s name from “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” but might add Harry Styles. Nashville now has a Morgan Wallen-themed Airbnb complete with a warning not to throw a chair off the balcony.  Joey shared that wrestling with his 12-year-old son has become a reality check. He used to easily pin his boys down, but now they’re getting strong enough to make him work for it.   Nerd News: A New York school paused plans for a humanoid robot teacher named Sally after parents learned the manufacturer also has ties to the adult companion robot industry. People claimed they found an alien missile on Mars, but NASA says it’s just a rock. Google Gemini is working on AI tools that remove “ums,” “likes,” and other filler words from dictated text.   Lucky 7 for Dollywood tickets  Nancy gave an update on her ankle injury after another doctor visit. The doctor now believes her pain could be a nerve-related condition and suggested it might actually be coming from how her brain is processing pain signals. Joey turned the conversation into jokes about shock therapy.  A new Tennessee law now makes it easier to own a pet raccoon. Joey also highlighted new Tennessee laws allowing digital vehicle registrations, animal chiropractic care, and requiring more daily recess time for elementary school students.  Nancy said her 13-year-old son couldn’t wait for tax-free weekend because it meant back-to-school shopping. Joey guessed her budget would be around $500, and Nancy hopes it will be less than that. 

Nancy wanted adults-only summer camp with cabins, counselors, bugles, Cheerwine, and zero responsibilities. The conversation turned into wishing for adult-sized playgrounds, ball pits, and swings built for grown-up hips.  Joey complained that his kids won't stop squeezing his "elbow meat," playing with his feet, and poking the back of his neck. Ella Langley and her crew took a CPR class. Joey realized his scary 185 bpm gym heart rate was likely caused by mixing a new medication with lots of caffeine.   The show talked about a professor who caught 32 of 35 students using AI to cheat by hiding the word "Madagascar" in the assignment instructions. Students turned in essays with random lines like "Madagascar floats sideways through the afternoon."  Hot Tea: Megan Moroney got emotional after ending a Denver show early due to illness. A fake Morgan Wallen meet-and-greet scam reportedly cost fans thousands. Researchers are also raising money for marmot studies through an OnlyFans page called "OnlyMarms."  Nancy is weirded out by physical therapy. The therapists aren't even fixing her old ankle injury, just strengthening everything around it.  A Candy Land Café popup in San Diego had Nancy and Karly ready to book a flight. Joey, Nancy, and Karly spent the afternoon filming content with Tennessee football players and discovered Nancy gets very quiet when she's "peopled out" and needs a little time to recharge.  Karly went several days without blinds in her new house and felt very exposed. She said it's a good thing she lives in the woods because her bathroom has a window.   The show's bosses shared a little too much about their bathroom experiences yesterday. Plus, people online are supposedly trying to catch Cyclospora to lose weight.   A new Shark Week special features a woman who claims she's in a relationship with a shark named Alan. She says she's spent thousands of dollars diving to see him and insists they share a special connection.  Karly made her first-ever trip to Costco and hated it. Between the crowds, giant bulk purchases, and her family's three buggies, she was extremely overwhelmed with the whole experience.  Hot Tea: The CEO of Cracker Barrel is stepping down after backlash over attempts to modernize the brand. Tom Cruise's daughter Suri is reportedly dropping "Cruise" from her name. An Iowa woman was arrested for DUI while driving a lawn mower.  Joey shared an old photo from his frosted-tip days and talked about skipping his 25-year class reunion. Only 13 people showed up out of a class of 160, which made him feel even better about staying home.  Lucky 7 for Dollywood tickets  Nancy complained about being required to volunteer at middle school football concessions and receiving a three-page packet explaining how to properly sell hot dogs, snacks, and drinks.  After hearing a dramatic reading of Luke Bryan's "Fish Hunt Golf Drink," Joey and Nancy performed spoken-word versions of Travis Tritt's "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" and Gretchen Wilson's "Redneck Woman."  McDonald's is testing clear bags designed for fans attending stadiums with clear-bag policies, making it easier to sneak in a value meal instead of paying stadium food prices. 

Joey's car still randomly smells like stink bait from a fishing trip. Nancy got to experience it after Joey made her sniff the air vent when the car had been baking in the sun.  Producer Karly was woken up by a phone call from the boss, Rich Bailey, on Saturday morning. She thought something was wrong at the station, but he was really calling to get help setting up Venmo for someone buying a WIVK shirt.  Monday Morning Wake-Up Calls are back! Joey and Nancy called 7-year-old Karson to wake him up.   Joey, Nancy, and Karly recapped Friday night's Neal McCoy concert at Country Tonite Theatre. They loved how funny he was, the random Christmas songs, and his surprise Michael Jackson performance. Karly was annoyed by the nonstop autograph line that kept interrupting the show.  Hot Tea: Bunnie XO bought herself a $500,000 Rolls-Royce after her divorce and rode off in it with her new boyfriend. LeBron James is headed to the Philadelphia 76ers. New fashion trend- fold over jeans that are designed to look unbuttoned and falling down.  After hearing about people base jumping off Seattle's Space Needle, the show asked where listeners would trespass if they knew they wouldn't get arrested. Answers included underneath Dollywood roller coasters, Dolly Parton's rumored secret room, Graceland's upstairs, Ripley's Aquarium, and underneath Neyland Stadium.  The show discussed Megan Moroney saying she's happily single during her Cloud Nine Tour but plans to get back into dating when it's over. After discussing fencing, feeding, and the fact that their kids would probably name the cows and refuse to eat them, she decided buying local beef sounds much easier.  Morgan Wallen rolled his ankle during a show. Nancy shared all the rehab exercises she's learned while recovering from her own ankle injury and joked that Morgan should take notes. 

Joey defended the viral toe-wrestling video with Nancy and Karly after his mother-in-law called it “nasty.” They laughed at other comments that were left on the video, including one from the Toe Wrestling Championship official social media that told them they did it wrong.   Joey shared a vacation story about a clogged hotel toilet that required a high-powered air-pressure tool instead of a plunger.  Hot Tea: Carly Pearce explained why she doesn’t want children. Luke Combs surprised fans who accidentally bought tickets to a tribute act. Joey and Nancy talked about senior dating after Nancy went to an 80th birthday party where the birthday girl’s current boyfriend and estranged husband both showed up. Joey got called out at Costco for wearing Crocs without the straps in “sport mode,” Nancy had a dream about Joey's friend working on her farm, and Karly admitted she cried over an animated whale video she found on TikTok.  Nancy played audio of her son Ben after he came out of anesthesia from surgery on his arm. He spent an hour singing everything from “Ice Ice Baby” to the national anthem, declared that 2+1 equals "six seven", and somehow mixed up Caitlin Clark with Lewis and Clark.  Hot Tea: Morgan Wallen’s tour is on pace to become the highest-grossing country tour ever. Ella Langley tied major chart records with “You Look Like You Love Me. A mime was arrested after allegedly harassing people, covering himself in cooking oil, and acting suspiciously on a walking trail.  Joey scored major husband points after tracking down one of Costco’s viral Esprit sweatshirts for his wife. The conversation turned into a nostalgic trip through 90s fashion, including Benetton, Umbro, Tommy Hilfiger overalls, Doc Martens, and Mossimo.  Nancy is going to see The Odyssey with her family (including her 13-year-old) tonight. Karly is excited that she got tickets to the movie’s special IMAX format. Nancy described Key West as disappointing because of seaweed-covered beaches, smelly water, bad food, and a rundown golf cart rental, while Joey shared stories from his family’s 1,100-mile New England road trip.  Joey spent much of his vacation waking up angry at Producer Karly after discovering she had secretly set a 3:30 a.m. alarm on his phone weeks ago. The alarm continued going off every morning of vacation, no matter what hotel he was staying in.  The World Cup wrapped up with Spain defeating Argentina 1-0 in the championship match. Joey and Nancy admitted they don't know much about soccer but were fascinated by the massive prize money awarded to the top teams.  Nancy warned listeners about the ongoing “Dookie-demic” lettuce outbreak after reports of a parasite linked to fresh produce caused severe stomach issues for some people.  Hot Tea: Jelly Roll and Bunny XO officially finalized their divorce, with Bunny explaining why she removed her podcast episode about the split. Riley Green had fans debating whether his interview on Theo Von’s podcast showed dry humor or arrogance. A man had to be rescued from inside a porta-potty after climbing in headfirst to retrieve a dropped Mountain Dew bottle.  The show talked about the massive opening weekend of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. Producer Karly got laughing gas yesterday at the dentist... for cleaning.   Joey tried to buy fancy cheese for his wife but got stressed in the store and didn’t.   Joey’s car smells exactly like catfish stink bait whenever the air conditioner turns on. He thinks leftover bait residue from fishing poles somehow got on the cabin air filter, and now he’s too embarrassed to let anyone ride with him.  Hot Tea: Bunnie XO was spotted kissing a 24-year-old at Jelly Roll’s bar in Nashville. Joey talked about his time at fairs as a kid when he would sing the national anthem and DJ for a dance.   Team USA lost to Belgium in the World Cup last night. Joey and Nancy talked about the red card reversal for a player before the match.  Nancy has been Christmas shopping in the UT Hospital gift shop while her dad has been admitted there.   Joey Chestnut won another Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, and Joey and Nancy debated how many hot dogs they could realistically eat in ten minutes. Nancy compared it to her annual wing-eating competition at the Big Kahuna Labor Day Festival.  Hot Tea: Luke Bryan says he has banned Blake Shelton from his 50th birthday party. Adam Sandler called the police in Nantucket to ask where he could play basketball. Joey and Nancy had a great time at Patriot Fest this weekend. Joey admitted that he didn’t shower afterwards, even though he was super sweaty. Nancy met a family whose dog can ride a scooter.   Tonight USA plays Belgium in the World Cup and there is watch party happening on Gay Street.   Joey shared a story about airlines overbooking flights and wondered how much money it would take listeners to give up their seats.
