Mikey Wright reflects on the moment he saved a woman’s life in Hawaii after she was swept into the ocean by a freak wave

Australian surfing siblings Tyler and Mikey Wright joined Tim Gilbert and Mark Taylor on Wide World of Sports to look back at their heroic effort over New Years.

Mikey was with friends on the beach celebrating the New Year, when a freak wave took a woman out to sea.

Tyler says “it all happened very quickly, we had music on and were having a BBQ when we saw a surge come in.”

“Then the situation escalated within about 10 seconds from when it started, then Mikey jumped into action.”
