On today’s show I chat with Lee from local hardcore band Abreact ahead of their gig tonight at the Golden Vine supporting Black Rheno on their 11 date East Coast “A Bad Ass Tour” along with Dog and The Damos. Tickets are $15 plus BF. Abreact have been around for sometime and scaled some dizzying heights in their early days. We’ll talk past, present and future will Lee, hear some tracks from Abreact, along with Black Rheno, C.O.F.F.I.N and a bit of The Preatures - all of whom play locally this weekend.

Bendigo – situated in the geographical centre of Victoria. Should it be the central to the tour itinerary of bands playing Victoria? Yup. Could it be? Let’s you and I do what we can to make that the case! When the venues book out of town bands, I’ll aim to play them and if possible, interview them. I’ll support the local acts too, because we wanna hear local voices and sounds too, right? When you hear about these gigs and you dig the act, buy a ticket in advance. Deal? Together we can support our great local acts, while putting our beautiful regional city on the rock and roll tour map!

This week, Mik chats with members of Japanese tribal underground rockers, Buddhadatta. Unfortunately, this Wednesday, the band were denied entry into Australian and the tour has had to be cancelled! This interview was recorded on the Monday of this week, when the tour was still on! Buddhadatta were to pull into the Golden Vine Hotel on Sunday Feb 22 with local post punkers, Alarms, in tow. Buddhadatta are no strangers to Australian shores, nor to Bendigo, where they packed the Vine on their 2025 visit. The trio includes a practicing Buddhist and are described as an excitement machine that use dark and mysterious tribal rhythms, led by throat singing and backed with rock instrumentation. The tour was to celebrate their recently released album, “Buddha and Devadatta”. I hope you enjoy my conversation with the band and that we do get to actually see them in Bendigo in the near future. Bridie has put together an event called, “Rock for a Cause”, which is a fundraiser for the Harcourt Progress Association. The line up features tasty and diverse local talent, who are all donating their time. That line up is: The Chans, The Unknown, Noog, Trip Hazard, The Hoodoo Heathens, Bill Barber and Friends, Sherri Parry duo, Steph Bitter, Jared Healy, Oliglamour Effect solo and Sam Pollock. The event kicks off at 12:30 in the afternoon and will only cost you a $5 donation , which monies going to the victims of the recent Harcourt fires. We'll hear songs from "Rock for a Cause" artists Steph Bitter, Sherri Parry, Bill Barber, Trip Hazard and The Chans. The show will close with the gig guide and music from Frankenbok and DOG who both play at Let's Chat Park on Saturday night.
