Welcome to What’s on Your Radio! On this week's show I chatted with Ezz from local dark heavy band, Spacegoat. Spacegoat play today (Friday the 13th) at Heresy at the Vine with Terra Vale and Nightmarsh in support. As usual, to get us in the mood, we'll get a bit of Spacegoat in our ears, while after the interview I'll run through this weekend's gig guide and play tracks from Redd Kross and The Mavis's who play at the Theatre Royal this weekend.

Bendigo – situated in the geographical centre of Victoria. Should it be the central to the tour itinerary of bands playing Victoria? Yup. Could it be? Let’s you and I do what we can to make that the case! When the venues book out of town bands, I’ll aim to play them and if possible, interview them. I’ll support the local acts too, because we wanna hear local voices and sounds too, right? When you hear about these gigs and you dig the act, buy a ticket in advance. Deal? Together we can support our great local acts, while putting our beautiful regional city on the rock and roll tour map!

Welcome to What’s on Your Radio! Today, it is my distinct honour to chat with Jim Moginie. Jim was a key song writer for legendary Australian band, Midnight Oil; a band that changed the way I thought and the type of music I sought out as a teenager. The Oils have officially retired and after the recent passing of the much loved and revered drummer, Rob Hirst, you’d have to think that any hope of a reunion have also passed. However, Jim has continued to make music in the years since Midnight Oil first called time and has quite the laundry list of entities that he has been a part of and bands he has produced. Seemingly always a man with an endless drive to create music, Jim’s latest guise is Jim Moginie and the Family Dog and they will be playing at the Shedshaker in Castlemaine on Thursday March 12. We'll listen to three of tracks from Jim Moginie and the Family Dog's album "Thunk" (which you CANNOT stream!), I'll mention this weekend's Harcourt Rising gigs (sorry no full gig guide, but plenty on if you checkout Live Music Bendigo) and hear a track from Broad Parade and Redjar.

This week, Mik chats with members of Japanese tribal underground rockers, Buddhadatta. Unfortunately, this Wednesday, the band were denied entry into Australian and the tour has had to be cancelled! This interview was recorded on the Monday of this week, when the tour was still on! Buddhadatta were to pull into the Golden Vine Hotel on Sunday Feb 22 with local post punkers, Alarms, in tow. Buddhadatta are no strangers to Australian shores, nor to Bendigo, where they packed the Vine on their 2025 visit. The trio includes a practicing Buddhist and are described as an excitement machine that use dark and mysterious tribal rhythms, led by throat singing and backed with rock instrumentation. The tour was to celebrate their recently released album, “Buddha and Devadatta”. I hope you enjoy my conversation with the band and that we do get to actually see them in Bendigo in the near future. There's also the weekly gig guide and music by artists playing locally this weekend, including: Alarms, Skyscraper Stan, TsuShiMaMire (Japan), The Hoodoo Heathens, The Distant South, Regurgitator, Kisschasy and Good Charlotte.
