The former head of the Republican Party in Illinois is trying to help the party gain its first statewide office in years. Don Tracy, who is 76, is the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate. Tracy is running against Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton in the November election, to succeed retiring Democrat Dick Durbin. In this Sound Ideas interview, Tracy tells Brenden Moore from Capitol News Illinois how President Trump could impact Illinois Republicans -- who are several decades removed from the power they once held in the state legislature.
