The former head of the Republican Party in Illinois is trying to help the party gain its first statewide office in years. Don Tracy, who is 76, is the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate. Tracy is running against Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton in the November election, to succeed retiring Democrat Dick Durbin.
