Carlock families make the case to keep their school open

Unit 5 may soon consider whether closing Carlock Elementary would be beneficial to the school district's efforts to correct enrollment imbalances. The potential closure of the school in northwest McLean County has been a recurring theme in preliminary meetings of an enrollment study, though a final recommendation has not yet been made. Carlock families have been showing up by the dozen to school board meeting each month to urge Unit 5 not close their school. K-12 correspondent Braden Fogerson has more on why Carlock residents say their school is worth keeping.
