From the WGLT newsroom, I'm John Norton. Some massage therapists say new licensing and application fees proposed by the city of Bloomington unfairly target legitimate businesses. Erica Hartman was one of several therapists who brought their concern to the city council last night. What should not be part of running my business.

special licensing and investigation fees for criminal activities that have nothing to do with me. The city is pursuing the new regulations on massage establishments and sexually oriented businesses as a way to address human trafficking. The council vote on the proposed ordinance amendments has been postponed for 2 weeks.

The executive committee of the McLean County Board has unanimously approved a Home Suite Home Ministry's request to have the county pay for a proposed shelter village for the unhoused in Bloomington. Home Sweet Homes CEO is Matt Burgess, who says the rationale behind the project name The Bridge is twofold as a nod both to its location, uh, on the south end of downtown right before you come over the bridge.

Uh, to come into the town, but also to indicate its purpose, uh, and that's to be a bridge for people, uh, coming inside. The full board will vote on the proposal on June 12th. The director of a legal advocacy group that lost a federal grant says there are still more questions than answers after a judge struck down the funding cut.

Jenna Kearn says the Illinois Justice Corps first wants to find out when AmeriCorps funding will come back.

Then things would look very similar in terms of the structure of like having AmeriCorps members in host locations like the McLean County Law and Justice Center in the law library.

Kearns says Justice Corps also must decide how it can rehire workers who lost jobs when Doge cut funding in April.

And the normal community high school baseball team is headed to the state finals for just the 3rd time in school history. The Ironman won 2 to 0 over Wonsee Valley in the 4A super section. Well that was at Illinois Wesleyan University. Now the Ironman will play in the state semi-finals on Friday in Joliet. and baseball weather today with a high near 78 under sunny skies.
