From the WGLT newsroom, I'm Ben Howell. District 87's wait for grant funding delayed by the Trump administration will be eased by the county-wide sales tax for schools. The district has nearly $1 million currently under federal review. Superintendent.

David Mauser says the tax revenue helps District 87 afford some of the costs the grant funding would have covered. If we didn't have that coming, and it's gonna take a while and and we're gonna be very transparent with how all that's used. The county-wide sales tax took effect this month.

Expectant and recent mothers across parts of Central Illinois facing challenges accessing maternity care have a new opportunity. OSF Healthcare and Meridian have partnered on a mobile clinic van. It will provide obstetric treatment to those unable to get to a facility in maternity deserts that

Woodford County. Brandy Clark is OSF On Call's vice president of digital care.

We're finding ways that we can provide virtual and digital care to close the gap.

The mobile care unit is funded for 3 years by a $1.5 million grant from the Centene Foundation.

After nearly two decades, air passengers across the country no longer have to take off their shoes at security checkpoints. That includes at Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington, where marketing and communications manager Melissa Beaver says passengers found the 9/11 era security measure to be a hassle. I think anything that is going to give the perception for passengers.

That they are going to have an easier pass through the security checkpoint is going to be a positive thing for people. The Transportation Security Administration abolished the shoes off rule last week, and a Bloomington Normal street minister promotes trauma-informed care for those living unsheltered in his new homeless outreach book, Bobby.
