From the WGLT newsroom, I'm Ben Howell, a nuclear physicist from Bloomington Normal says there is cause for concern following the United States' military strikes in Iran over the weekend. Matt Kaplan is a physics professor at ISU and a member of Physicist Coalition for Nuclear Threat Reduction. The thing that sets Iran apart from any other country that has a nuclear program is very clandestine enrichment activities. Kaplan says global leaders are mixed on how to feel about the attacks.

An Airbnb owner at Normal says the town's coming ban is an overly broad solution to a narrow issue. Marie Poundstone says the town could pursue more targeted options. Hey, maybe we just limit the number of Airbnbs or the ones that are problematic, or limit it to people that are just in town. Poundstone says she understands the instinct to do something as the number of short-term rental listings has grown in the community.

The cities of Champaign, Urbana, Decatur, and Peoria are all very interested in having a stop on the potential 220 mile an hour high-speed passenger rail service. Former Federal Railroad Administrator Joe Zabo says the answer to political infighting is to make sure everyone knows they won't be left behind. Everybody wants the big prize.

But perhaps they're not the best example for the big prize, right? But, but that doesn't mean that they should be left alone and left isolated.
