From the WTLT newsroom, I'm John Norton. Several 100 demonstrators in Bloomington joined the nearly 2000 no kings protest around the country Saturday. Nancy Sims of Bloomington was protesting against the military parade that President Trump held on the same day as his birthday.

I think that money could be used for the VAs. I think that

Money could be used in so many other ways than to celebrate his birthday, which is, you know, Obama never did that. Hell, Nixon never did that. Reagan never did that. This is unprecedented in a stupid use of

money.

The military parade is estimated to have cost taxpayers as much as $45 million.

Short term rentals such as Airbnbs would be phased out as single family neighborhoods in normal. That's under a plan the town council will consider tonight. The town is proposing a ban on any new short-term rentals in lower density neighborhoods.

There would also be a 5 year grace period for existing rentals. A 6 month moratorium on new short-term rentals in normal recently expired, as the town did a review of existing properties. The review came in response to complaints about some short-term rentals being sources of excessive noise and traffic congestion. The normal community high school baseball team hosted a celebration at the school yesterday. This after their best season in school history, the Ironman took 3rd at state.

Shortstop Kyle Beaty says winning at state accomplishes a goal the team set last winter. First practice indoors in our little gym, we looked at the banners and realized we didn't have a base one up there yet, and it was the goal to hang one and we did that, didn't get to the final game, but 3rd place is not bad for sure. It's definitely a good season. The Ironman defeated Brother Rice of Chicago in the Class 4A finals in Joliet.

And many state agencies will be facing small or no funding increases next year. But Attorney General Kwame Raul's office will get a hefty increase in its general operating budget. Capital News Illinois reports lawmakers gave the AG's office a $15.7 million increase in operating funds at slightly more than Raul requested during budget hearings in April. Raoul says his office needs the extra money to hire additional staff to handle the increased workload it now manages. I'm.
