Several ex-members of a church in Normal say the leaders are perpetrating spiritual abuse. Jessica Pope was part of Foundation Church for over a decade and says the lead pastor kicked people out and yelled at them. I use the word toxic leadership. That's what it felt like. It's like this person doesn't really have anybody holding him accountable. Pope has been spreading awareness about foundations since she left and says she hopes more people leave the church.

ISU president Andeve Tarhuli says recent new contracts with faculty and other bargaining units that include pay raises complicate efforts to close a structural deficit. He also acknowledges that for non-union workers on campus who are not getting salary adjustments, it could increase pressures to unionize, though he sees the irony of that

as more people unionize because nobody wants to be left behind.

And the company says it will remodel and revive a movie theater on Bloomington's far east side. Golden Ticket Cinema's Alehouse Bloomington plans to open this summer at 2025 Detroit Drive. That's near Tawanda Barnes Road in the central Illinois Regional Airport. It's the former home of new.

Theaters, which closed in 2020, a few months into the pandemic. Golden Ticket Cinemas says it'll have luxury recliner seating in every auditorium, plus a self-pour beer wall with 30 selections on tap and hot food delivered to your seat. I'm John Norton, WGLT.
