Before Councillor Tony Randle's passing, he shared concerns around a bus lane proposal with other councillors including Andrea Compton, who joins Nick on the show today.
Councillor Compton confirmed Randle's findings of a $60 million disadvantage from the planned Harbour Quays bus route change, which includes replacing a car lane each way with a bus lane.
The proposal will be voted through mid-September by Wellington City Council, but Compton says the extra walking from diverted stops was not taken into account calculating the original benefit to cost ratio.
The problem identified by Randle, brings the ratio down significantly.
Nick also asked about the process being made with the controversial Cambridge Terrace bus lanes, to which Compton believes a review is underway to move it to "peak hours only".
