View descriptionShare

This week on Wellbeing we talk with Libby Ferfoglia about gambling recovery. Libby is a counsellor from GambleAware. GambleAware’s purpose is to work towards zero gambling-related harm in NSW, Australia through research, education and support for individuals and communities.

In this episode Libby talks about why gambling is an addiction, gambling's effect on the brain, when gambling becomes a problem, the counselling process involved in helping people that have a gambling problem, the challenges in gambling recovery and what GambleAware is.

“I believe gambling is an addiction, the reason being is that when someone gambles the receptors in their brain light up as someone that has a cocaine addiction.” - Libby Ferfoglia on this episode of Wellbeing
