Voters back CLP in NT elections with new Chief Minister promising tough on crime stance

Fresh from defeating Labor in the NT election, the Country Liberal Party vows to get tough on crime.

New Chief Minister, Lia Finocchiaro, plans to lower the age of criminal responsibility to 10, increase funding to police and is considering the re-introduction of the use of spit hoods in youth detention centres. 

Meanwhile, Labor has a major task ahead if it wants to return to government after securing four seats, with another still to be determined.  NIRS speaks to Member for Arnhem and Nunggayinbala and Anindilyakwa woman Selena Uibo about leading the party and the impact of the CLP's agenda on crime.
