Minister for Indigenous Australians Senator Malarndirri McCarthy says despite the setbacks of the Voice referendum, the government is still committed to Truth and Treaty processes.

The Yanyuwa Garrawa Senator from Borroloola in the Gulf of Carpentaria is urging First Nations people to take part in the Senate Inquiry into Makarrata that will start travelling around the country next month.

The Senator for the Northern Territory tells N-I-R-S reporter Nance Haxton that with the lack of bi-partisan support for the Voice, her focus is now on Closing the Gap.
