This week Indigenous leaders have been reflecting on the past 12 months following the one year anniversary of the Indigenous Voice to Parliament Referendum. 

Speaking to NIRS the Federal Minister for Indigenous Australians Malarndirri McCarthy says it's time to focus on Closing the Gap and for the nation to continue to push for systemic change. 

Other Highlights Include:

  • Amnesty International's Indigenous spokesperson Rodney Dillon highlights the polices which will impact young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders going into the Queensland State Election. 
  • Kooma man and activist Wayne Wharton outlines upcoming protests against King Charles III's Australian Visit.    
  • And, Traditional yarning circles are being used to reduce suicidal thoughts among First Nations school students in Queensland.
