For the first time in decades Australia’s environment laws will be getting an overhaul.

With the help of the Greens the Albanese government has passed changes to the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act.

The reforms look to provide stronger protections for the environment, while also supporting businesses.

The changes have been welcomed by some environment groups but some industry bodies say they’re bitterly disappointed.
