The Head of Queensland's Truth Telling and Healing Inquiry says this week's hearings have uncovered "160 years of failure" from the state's government departments.  

This week the Inquiry has heard from the Queensland Police Service, the health department and the Department of Treaty, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships. 

Inquiry Chair Joshua Creamer has told NIRS the evidence showed that the departments had failed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. 

Other highlights: 

  • South Australia's voice for Indigenous children "Wakwakurna Kanyini" launches. 
  • Redfern Legal Centre launches a first of it's kind Police Accountability Dashboard.
  • And The North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency's Principal Legal Officer Jared Sharp welcomes the return of Community Courts.
